Working in partnership with Risks Contained Ltd has enabled Southampton University Students’ Union to escape from a culture and climate of suspicion and fear of risk and liability. Through our ongoing working relationship , SUSU is now striving to create a broad and transparent culture amongst staff and students, based upon an understanding and appreciation of the necessity of risk and the measures that need to be taken to protect people and property yet also to maximise the potential of our organisation. Through this new culture SUSU is beginning to move away from the traditional fears of litigation and compensation culture which paralyse so many companies and instead empower staff and students, through training and positive reinforcement, to identify for themselves the benefits of how a better understanding of how they and their organisation operates can enhance everything they do.
