How legislation must play its part in your big event by Steve Allen
Unravelling the raft of legislation governing both health and safety and fire prevention at events can be a daunting task for even the most experienced organiser.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire) Safety Order 2005, for example, states that you have a legal responsibility to seek competent safety assistance. Some recognisable qualifications will include the membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers and or The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate. In addition, it is strongly recommended they have practical experience in fire safety. So what does the legislation mean for the ordinary party organiser? |
