Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes of the SIA Licensed Close Protection Operative course will be achieved through modular subject delivery in accordance with SIA and awarding body specifications plus Risks Contained internally assessed and delivered specialist components.
Upon completion of the programme delegates will be better able to:
- Explain the concepts, protocols and procedures relating to the roles and responsibilities of a Close Protection team.
- Explain the concepts and strategies used to manage threat and risk assessment relevant to Close Protection.
- Discuss and demonstrate awareness to relevant legislation, powers and policy relating to Close Protection operations.
- Effectively deal with a range of incidents and potential dilemmas relevant to Close Protection.
- Demonstrate effective operational planning skills and operational knowledge in relation to Close Protection operations.
- Confidently deliver and submit team briefings, security reports and statements.
- Discuss and demonstrate the strategies and concepts of effective communication and conflict management.
- Implement strategies relating to reconnaissance, surveillance and search awareness.
- Demonstrate safe and effective Close Protection team skills, including foot and vehicle drills.
- Demonstrate and legally justify a range of safe and effective physical intervention methods.
- Explain the intricacies associated with the Music and Sporting Close Protection Industries.
- Explain and demonstrate good practice in relation to residential security measures.
- Demonstrate an awareness of fire safety, health and safety and safe working practice.
- Appreciate protocols and procedures relating to touring, tour bus and venue based operations.
- Demonstrate an awareness of issues and practices relating to crowd management.
- Safely and confidently deal with a range of First Aid at Work incidents.
Participant profileThe course is open to all male and female candidates. Those attending this course must be able to communicate effectively in good English (written and verbal). Delegates must also be in good health and be physically able to operate in a wide range of locations; this includes the ability to conduct vehicle walking drills and physical intervention skills unaided. Those requesting an SIA operator’s license will undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check upon license application which is administered by the Security Industry Authority, all applicants must have completed or be booked on a first aid at work course before applying for their license with the SIA.
Course DurationThe SIA stipulate that the course programme is conducted over 150 guided learning hours. Risks Contained have therefore designed this programme to run over Ten (10) days inclusive of examination and 10 Nights - 4 Star Accommodation and all Meals
Course Fees:For the full course fees are £3500.00 including 15% VAT, 4 Star En Suite Accommodation, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Leisure Facilities and all associated training costs. Payable prior to the start of training, Payments can be made by cash, cheque or credit/debit card via online payment system, to confirm your place on the course a deposit of £1725.00 is required, with the remainder payable before start of the course.
